This course will provide an overview of the current state of telehealth education within academic and health information settings. The course will apply principles of community-based research to discussions about the support for additional clinical, research and educational services. Resources will be shared to spur the development of programs that leverage the expertise and resources associated with health libraries, academic health centers, and telehealth services.

  1. Learners will be able to define common terms related to the provision of telehealth services. 
  2. Learners will be able to apply digital health concepts in community and academic health settings. 
  3. Learners will be able to describe opportunities for innovation to support learners, patients and communities.

Ragan DuBose-Morris, PhD, is an Associate Professor at MUSC and the Director of Telehealth Education at the Center for Telehealth, where she is responsible for implementing telehealth services through virtual, distance, and in-person systems while developing educational programs for healthcare students and professionals. Her career has focused on the development of curriculum for students, providers, administrators, community members and policy makers through accessible training tailored to address provider adoption, technology deployment and public policy implementation.
