Curious about evidence-based public health (EBPH) but not sure where to start? This session will explain the basics of evidence-based public health (EBPH) and highlight essentials of the EBPH process such as identifying the problem, forming a question, searching the literature, and evaluating the intervention.
This presentation meets the NLM/NIH strategic plan goal of building a workforce for data-driven research and health in order to address increasing health equity through information by using the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed bibliographic database and other freely available resources.
From Problem to Prevention Handout (Word)
- Describe the three domains of influence in Public Health
- List the seven steps involved in the evidence-based public health framework
- Use the PICO (Patient/population; Intervention; Comparison; Outcomes) framework to develop a research question
- Apply search filters to find high quality research from at least two online resources
