CHIS On Demand are for library staff interested in providing consumer health information to their community. Registration is open to anyone interested in consumer health information and outreach in their community. Earn up to 5 Medical Library Association (MLA) continuing education credit hours that qualify towards the MLA Level 1 Consumer Health Information Specialization (CHIS). 5 separate modules cover content related to Level 1 CHIS competencies.
Modules can be completed in any order. You can take 1 module or all of them. Each is designed to take 1 hour to complete. Once you finish the module, a link appears, allowing you to claim 1 hour of CE credit for the module.

This presentation addresses the NNLM goals to support a highly trained workforce for biomedical and health information resources and data, improve health literacy, increase health equity through information, and increase health information access and use by including information about the NLM/NIH resources MedlinePlus, PubMed ClnicalTrials, DailyMed and PubChem, and foundational concepts about health literacy and providing consumer health information to communities.
Each module has its own learning objectives specific to the corresponding CHIS competency.
