Discover Caring for the Colon
Abdominal pain, aches, or cramps may be symptoms of colorectal cancer. If you have any symptoms that worry you, be sure to see your doctor right away. Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Because colorectal cancer may cause no warning signs, regular screenings are still the most proactive thing you can do to help find cancer early when it’s most treatable. Organizations such as the Colorectal Cancer Alliance raise awareness in support of access to screening, treatment, and research. In 1999, the Prevent Cancer Foundation led the charge to designate March as National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
But there is no time to wait! Help raise awareness of colon health now. Read and discuss an NNLM Reading Club book selection with friends and loved ones. And use credible resources for reliable information.
