Collection Equity Award Y3 - Pacific University Oregon

This is a proposal to purchase diversity training products and services for cultural awareness and skill-building activities similar to ones that individuals (or association members) might get attending continuing education (CE) classes through podcasts, online webinars/workshops, live or taped conferences, etc. Such products and services offer online, on-demand, interactive, and intensive learning. This proposal extends collection development beyond traditional library formats and genres (such as books, films, and journals) by focusing on acquiring more interactive media programming. These products could also be incorporated into any educational curriculum or personnel service.

Product identification and selection will be multi-disciplinary and multi-faceted. We will attempt to reach various organizations and stakeholders to assess information needs and to address practical or pressing issues. Resource content may include anti-bias education, anti-racist pedagogy, sexual and gender minority health, intellectual or developmental disabilities, etc.

Sample diversity training products:

This is a series of short situational eLearning videos and quizzes to understand the LGBTQ+ community.

This is a collection of interactive sessions for those who wish to sharpen their skills and strategies to address structural racism and advance racial equity.

These half-day and full-day training experiences educate people about appropriate attitudes and interactions needed when serving people with disabilities.
