ESLN Technology: Improving Access to Information and Training for Libraries and Community Members in the Rochester Region
The Rochester Regional Library Council will improve and upgrade our technological capacity in order to provide a better experience for in person, online, and hybrid meetings and training and to provide better access to information. This will enable the council to provide a more engaging experience for people attending our events, and will allow us to travel to offsite locations with technology kits to support online and hybrid events at member locations. We expect this upgrade to increase access to health information and strengthen communication and connectivity for health. Training will be available to all members, which include academic, hospital, medical, public, and school libraries. Mobile meeting/training kits will be used to provide training at member locations, and members will be able to borrow kits to help facilitate training for their staff and patrons. The mobile kit will be available to members who are conducting training or outreach with community members, including those in poverty, the elderly, historically marginalized people, and other underserved populations. The primary audience for this project will be members of the Rochester Regional Library Council, and the secondary audience will be people served by RRLC members.
