The provision of health education in clinic and physician office waiting rooms is not new; however, it is usually done by use of printed materials and/or passive video presentations. This project explores the feasibility of using live presentations to teach medication safety to parents and caregivers in the waiting area of an ambulatory care clinic at a busy 98 teaching hospital. The presentations will be given by a team of three university students using the library's portable Sharp Interactive Display System purchased with an earlier NNLM grant. The system's split screen feature will allow for simultaneous presentation of English and Spanish materials.
